Richard Branson is back in Kyiv

Richard Branson came to Kyiv for the second time during the full-scale invasion. He did it for the first time in the summer of 2022, when he inspected the airfield in Hostomel and promised to contribute to the restoration of the world’s largest An-225 Mriya aircraft destroyed by the Russian occupiers.

Branson is known as the man who financed the creation of the first private aircraft to make a suborbital flight. He is the founder of Virgin Galactic, which offers everyone to make a tourist flight beyond space.

The current visit of Branson to Kyiv was reported directly by the Administration of the President of Ukraine. After all, the space billionaire came to meet with Volodymyr Zelenskyy. Over the past year, he has supported our country with his statements. Now he will be able to continue doing this as an ambassador of the United24 initiative.

What is United24

United24 is a fundraising platform, an international initiative aimed at raising funds worldwide for the fight against Russia. It was founded on May 5, 2022. During its existence, it has collected USD 237 million from donors from 110 countries.

The ambassadors of United24 managed to become an American actor, the performer of the role of Luke Skywalker in “Star Wars” Mark Hamill and astronaut Scott Kelly. In addition, they are Andriy Shevchenko, Barbra Streisand, Katheryn Winnick and Bear Grylls. Richard Branson is joining them now.

“I am glad that you have decided to become a United24 ambassador. It is very important that new famous and influential personalities join this platform. One of the main tasks is to keep the world’s attention on Russia’s war against Ukraine, which has been ongoing for over a year. In addition, there are very specific issues on which we can work together,” Volodymyr Zelenskyy emphasized.
