The US company Maxar Technologies claims that the report about the termination of access to its satellite images for Ukrainians is not true. It’s just a matter of stopping their supply through the state’s GEGD program. Another way to get pictures in the future is possible.

Maxar Technologies and satellite images
The US company Maxar Technologies has not closed access to its satellite images for Ukraine. This is according to a letter that Universe Space Tech received from the company itself. It says that the message from the Militarnyi portal.
It’s about the fact that Maxar Technologies didn’t close anything on their own at all. It is the US government that has a program to buy images from the company using multiple accounts. And several of them were paid for Ukrainian intelligence, which could get the necessary images from them independently. But now the U.S. government has simply shut down those accounts.
“The Militarnyi report is specifically about imagery that is provided under U.S. government programs,” – the report said. “Maxar has contracts with the U.S. government and dozens of allied and partner countries around the world to provide satellite imagery and other geospatial data. Each customer makes their own decisions about how they will use and share this data.
The specific program in question is GEGD (Global Enhanced GEOINT Delivery Program), a U.S. government program that provides access to commercial satellite imagery acquired and collected by the U.S. government. The U.S. government has decided to temporarily suspend Ukrainian accounts with GEGD.”
How Ukraine can continue to receive images
That is, the images of combat areas and objects deep inside Russian territory are quite open for Ukrainian users, both public and private. You just should buy them from some other accounts, or using other services.
The company representatives once again assured that every client is important to them. And they do not violate the terms of their contracts. That is, all questions are with the White House administration. And the company itself is ready to continue supplying images to Ukraine, but already for money, not necessarily Ukrainian. Or it is possible, for example, to organize a collection to pay for the account.
