Amazon MGM has released the first trailer for the highly anticipated science fiction film Project Hail Mary. Ryan Gosling plays the main role in the film.
The Project Hail Mary is a film adaptation of the novel of the same name by Andy Weir, author of The Martian. It is set in the near future. The main character is high school teacher Ryland Grace, who has to become an astronaut. He wakes up aboard a spacecraft, suffering from amnesia. Gradually, the hero remembers that he has been sent to the τ Ceti system, located 12 light years from Earth, to find a way to reverse the process of the sun’s darkening, which could lead to the extinction of humanity. The search for answers will require Rayland to rely on his extensive scientific knowledge, ingenuity, and possibly the assistance of an alien intelligence.
The film is directed by Phil Lord and Christopher Miller, the filmmakers behind “21 Jump Street” and “The Lego Movie.” The adaptation was written by Drew Goddard, who previously brought The Martian to the big screen. Ryan Gosling played the role of Ryland Grace. Sandra Hüller also appeared in the film.
