Amid major changes in various U.S. government agencies, departments that study the phenomenon of unidentified flying objects (UFOs) may be cut under the orders of newly elected President Donald Trump. A multi-year search was conducted by the FBI’s Secret Division. This structure, which until recently remained in the shadows, has now been confirmed by official sources. All staff are concerned that they could lose their jobs during the onset of the fight against bureaucracy and funding cuts.

Independence and cooperation
Politico reports that the office operates independently of the Pentagon-led All-domain Anomaly Resolution Office (AARO), which specializes in reviewing drone reports submitted by military personnel. The FBI, however, declined to disclose details about the number of employees or the length of time the structure has existed.
“The FBI investigates unidentified anomalous phenomena in the context of a possible violation of federal law, particularly if it involves U.S. national security,” the bureau said.
Critical value of work
The work of this group gained attention after a series of public statements and eyewitness testimonies. Former Navy pilot and activist Ryan Graves said the group’s work was critical. He expressed concern that potential management changes could negatively impact its operations.
“I worry that the new leaders who may come in don’t realize the significance of this team’s work and how its research is being integrated into intergovernmental efforts,” he emphasized.

Another witness, Caison Best, a former Army intelligence officer, shared his experience working with the FBI’s Secret Division after witnessing an alleged UFO in Colorado. He said the possible downsizing or disbanding of the group would be “disastrous.”
There is speculation that the FBI’s UFO office is not only cooperating with AARO, but also with other government agencies. This interaction points to a broader U.S. government interest in the study of unidentified phenomena.
Political influence and future
Against this context, there are fears that administrative initiatives aimed at changing the policy direction may affect the existence of the department. This is especially true of Donald Trump’s plans, who has previously stated a desire to purge the government of undesirable personnel.
At the same time, Graves believes that such actions would contradict Trump’s public promises to reveal the truth about UFOs.
Although the future fate of this secret division remains uncertain, its existence confirms the seriousness of the government’s approach to investigating phenomena that still remain mysterious. The disclosure of such details adds a new perception change not only to the work of the FBI, but also to the overall U.S. government’s UFO strategy.
