Tourists are already being offered tickets for the 2027 solar eclipse in Egypt

The April 2024 solar eclipse caused a tourism boom in the United States. Therefore, it is already worth thinking about the next solar eclipse in 2027 and choosing the best place to observe it.

Luxury travel operator Geographic Expeditions offers a unique itinerary created specifically for this event. A company specializing in organizing exclusive adventures invites guests to Egypt, where they will be able to observe the 2027 solar eclipse from the best viewing platforms. The ten-day journey will begin on July 26, 2027. and will coincide with the culmination of the event, which will take place on August 2 in Luxor, on the east bank of the Nile River. 

Travelers will have a unique opportunity not only to see the solar eclipse, but also to learn more about the ancient Egyptian civilization’s contribution to astronomy. They will be accompanied on the trip by certified Egyptologists and Ed Krupp, director of the Griffith Observatory in Los Angeles, who will give lectures and explanations.

The adventure will begin in Cairo, from where participants will travel to Aswan. There, they will board a traditional wooden boat for traveling on the Nile. During the four nights, guests will be invited to dinners under the stars, visit little-known villages and ancient temples. In Edfu, for example, they will see the Temple of Horus, built in 55 BC. At El Kaab, it will be possible to explore the rows of tombs, as well as take excursions to less popular sites such as Jebel Silsila and the Speos of Horemheb. 

Solar eclipse of 2027

The main event of the trip will take place in Luxor. Guests will be placed on a private rooftop overlooking the Valley of the Kings, from where they will observe the eclipse. This spectacle will last almost 6.5 minutes. Luxury accommodations are also provided, particularly at the five-star InterContinental Citystars Cairo and Al Moudira hotels.

The cost of the journey is $22,250 per person. The official itinerary dates are July 26 through August 4, 2027. Reservations will open on February 11.
