Before that, other images appeared online showing the state of affairs at the Olenya and Belaya air bases on the eve of the strike. According to them, 40 Tu-22M3, 11 Tu-95MS, and 5 An-12 were stationed at the first airbase, located in the Murmansk region. At the Belaya air base, there were 7 Tu-160, 5 Tu-95MS, 2 Il-78M, and 6 An-26. Thus, the number of potential targets was indeed extremely large.

Operation Spider’s Web

In total, on June 1, 2025, the Security Service of Ukraine attacked as many as 5 airfields across Russia. The operation, called “Spider’s Web”, had been in the works for 1.5 years and consisted of preparing a massive launch of kamikaze drones directly from enemy territory. It is claimed that as a result, 41 aircraft were hit, which is 34% of all strategic cruise missile carriers of the Russian Air Force.

The images published by Biggers show 3 destroyed Tu-95MS, one destroyed Tu-22M3, and one severely damaged Tu-95MS. It is unknown how many aircraft were destroyed at other attacked air bases. After all, there is a very recent picture of Belaya, dated June 2. It clearly shows 7 Tu-160, 8-9 Tu-95MS, 42 Tu-22M3 and one Il-56. Thus, we can conclude that all strategic aviation in the European part of Russia has been transferred to Siberia, if not destroyed.
