SpaceX’s Super Heavy rocket danced to the Christmas song “Shchedryk”

SpaceX released an original greeting with the Christmas holidays. The space company published a video in which synchronized control of engine nozzles turned into a festive dance to the music of “Shchedryk” in a modern performance. In the 65-second clip, which begins with a view of the base of the Super Heavy rocket. It is the world’s most powerful rocket. The company wished for “warm holidays, a Merry Christmas and a bright New Year.”

Super Heavy rocket is equipped with 33 Raptor engines, which have already been used during six test flights from the Starbase spaceport in Texas. The next test launch is scheduled for early January. In the video, the engine nozzles move to different positions to the sound of music, demonstrating the coherence and technological perfection of the control system.

This system is based on the thrust vector control (TVC) mechanism. This technology allows the thrust direction of the engines to be reversed to control the orientation of the rocket. The Super Heavy utilizes a gimbal joint that allows the nozzles to rotate along several axes, including pitch and roll. This allows the rocket to perform precise maneuvers during launch, flight, and vertical landing, where very precise positioning is required for capture by Mechazilla manipulators.

The final part of the video shows the Raptor’s engines running at full power. This incendiary footage was probably shot during static fire tests or one of the test flights.

After completing all testing and obtaining licenses, SpaceX plans to use the 120-meter Starship rocket for NASA missions. In particular, the spacecraft will deliver crews and cargo to the Moon, contributing to the creation of a permanent base for astronauts to live and work. Eventually, Starship could become a key element of the first human mission to Mars, planned for the 2030s.

No less original holiday mood was supported by NASA, presenting the rocket fireplace. This an atmospheric video, which, according to the agency, is guaranteed to surprise you and your guests during the New Year holidays.
