US company Firefly Aerospace has begun receiving images of the solar eclipse captured by the Blue Ghost spacecraft, which is on the Moon. The first shows the dark disk of our planet, which is illuminated at the edges by the Sun behind it.

The first image of the solar eclipse from the Moon
The American company, Firefly Aerospace, which was once saved by Ukrainian businessman Max Polyakov, kept its promise and published a rare photo of the solar eclipse, obtained on the Moon.
Actually, it is impossible to observe a solar eclipse anywhere on Earth on this day. It is possible to see only the lunar one, but it is predominantly available to residents of North America. But from the Moon, it all looks like a situation where the Sun is hidden behind the disk of the Earth.
All you need is a vehicle with a functioning camera on the surface of the Moon. And Firefly Aerospace has one. Blue Ghost landed a few weeks ago, and it is still in operation today. So, all you have to do is take a picture and send it back to Earth.
Images of the solar eclipse
The first image of the solar eclipse was obtained around 12:30 am CDT. In Europe, it was already morning at this time; in North America, it was still only the middle of the night, and on the Moon, Blue Ghost saw the sun hiding behind the disk of the Earth.
True, the image directly toward our planet shows a mostly bright flash at the point where the luminary hides behind a disk that is too dark to be seen in the darkness of space.
But if you look below, the solar panels of the craft perfectly show both the dark disk of the Earth and the light halo around it. It all looks amazing together: the Sun, our planet, the vehicle, and the surface of the Moon.
In fact, the most amazing pictures of the Moon are ahead of us. Blue Ghost should have taken many more. However, due to the eclipse, its solar panels did not produce electricity for some time. It should reboot soon and then Firefly Aerospace will get a chance to take more great photos.
