Starlink is resisting Russia

On May 11, a message decorated with a Ukrainian flag appeared on the Twitter account of American inventor and businessman in the field of space technologies Elon Musk. The richest man on the planet reported that the Starlink satellite communications network is resisting Russian aggression.

In the early days of the Ukrainian-Russian war, the aggressor country already tried to jam the signal from the Starlink satellites. The Viasat network was also subjected to hacker attacks. During the next two months of the war, attempts by Kremlin hackers to hack the network did not stop.

Currently, Musk reports that the intensity of attacks is increasing. Moreover, the Russians are simultaneously trying to hack the network as a whole and jam its signals in Ukraine. The attacks are aimed at destroying Ukraine’s Internet communication with the whole world, which is now largely tied to Starlink.

Russia’s Revenge on Elon Musk

Elon Musk announced his support for Ukraine in its fight against Russian invaders in the first days of the invasion. He opened the Starlink satellite Internet for our country and provided thousands of terminals to connect to it.

Now these devices are used by both the military on the front line and the civilian population. According to analysts, there are now more than 150 thousand Starlink users in Ukraine. This makes the country one of the world’s largest users of this most modern communication system.

So, it is quite possible that the attacks on the network are also the revenge of the aggressors personally to Musk for not allowing Ukraine to plunge into information chaos. He is especially hated by the head of Roscosmos, Dmitry Rogozin, who has already threatened the businessman.
