On the evening of May 3, an amazing phenomenon was observed over central and western Ukraine, which people mistook for the Aurora borealis or UFOs. However, in fact it was the second stage of Space X’s Falcon 9 rocket, which launched satellites.
Mysterious UFO over Ukraine
At about 10:50 p.m. GMT on May 3, a strange phenomenon was observed in the sky over the central and western regions of Ukraine. At first glance, it seemed to be just a glow of white-blue color, or a flare in the sky. However, if you look closely, it was an object that was slowly moving across the western part of the sky. It was also seen in the capital.
The object had a definite structure: a central core surrounded by a halo. The latter tried to take the form of a spiral. All this caused a considerable boom among the citizens of the country. Many thought it was a UFO, because what else could have such a bizarre appearance.
Other people thought they had seen the aurora borealis. It was indeed observed in the skies of Ukraine that very evening. But in fact, the mysterious phenomenon did not look like it at all. However, people who are a little aware of what can be regularly seen in the sky, instantly get to know what it really is.
Falcon 9 rocket
In fact, the mysterious object was only the second stage of the Falcon 9 rocket, which was falling in the Earth’s atmosphere. It put two WorldView Legion satellites last night. By the way, they belong to Maxar, a company known for its images of the consequences of the Russian invasion of Ukraine.
Actually, the main proof that the UFO was actually an American rocket is the flight path of the rocket published by The Alpha Centauri project. This time it was close to the North Pole, since the observation satellites had to be placed in such a sun-synchronous orbit.
According to the information released, the second stage of the Falcon 9 in Ukraine could be seen exactly there and exactly when people saw the mysterious UFO. In addition, the nature of this mysterious phenomenon is revealed by a ghostly spiral structure.
This is the so-called “jellyfish” — the condensation trail from the rocket’s movement in the upper atmosphere. By its nature, it is similar to the trace of an airplane, but it looks much more amazing. For a long time, such phenomena have frightened people even in those regions of the planet over which spacecraft launch trajectories often pass. And for Ukraine, this is even more of a curiosity.
