Buzz Aldrin is for Donald Trump!

On Tuesday, November 5, the United States will hold a presidential election. This topic has been affecting many different areas of life for some time now, and space is no exception. On October 30, less than a week before the event, the man who, along with Neil Armstrong, first set foot on the surface of the Moon in 1969 expressed his position on it.

Buzz Aldrin, a member of the Apollo-11 crew, is now 94 years old, but he remains active in public life. This time, he posted a rather long message in which he said that for many Americans, next Tuesday’s choice would be a difficult one, but not for him, as he unequivocally supports Donald Trump.

“For me, for the future of our Nation, to meet enormous challenges, and for the proven policy accomplishments above, I believe the nation is best served by voting for Donald J. Trump,” he said. “I wholeheartedly endorse him for President of the United States. Godspeed President Trump, and God Bless the United States of America.”

Hopes of the old astronaut

Buzz Aldrin explained his choice by saying he liked Trump’s actions since he was first in charge of the White House. Indeed, his relationship with the current Republican candidate has been close since the 50th anniversary of the moon landing.

Donald Trump’s ideas on politics in general are pretty much in line with how Aldrin himself looks at these things. But most of all, the astronaut hopes he’ll pay close attention to the development of the U.S. space program.

According to Aldrin, he has been monitoring for years how officials’ improved attitude toward space exploration has been replaced by deterioration and vice versa. And interest in traveling beyond Earth grew the most during Trump’s first term.

In addition to all of the above, Aldrin also mentioned Elon Musk. The main space businessman of our time also supports Trump. Therefore, it is not surprising that his endeavors in creating space technology received high praise from the old astronaut.

But about Kamala Harris, who also once got involved in space issues, and other people from this sphere, supporting the Democrats, Aldrin didn’t mention at all. He really seems to have settled on his choice.
