New agreements

On April 8, Vast announced that it had entered into three more agreements to host payloads from various firms and organizations aboard its Haven-1 space station. Its new customers are known to be Japan Manned Space Systems Corporation (JAMSS), Interstellar Lab and Exobiosphere.

Japan Manned Space Systems Corporation is an organization well known for the development and operation of scientific equipment aboard the Japanese Kibo module. This time it’s about multi-purpose equipment for gravity research.

Interstellar Lab is a French company that will provide an advanced research and development center called Eden 1.0. It will be used for plant growth experiments. Exobiosphere is a company based in Luxembourg. Its scientific equipment is designed for pharmaceutical and medical research.

Placement of equipment and launching of the station

The Haven-1 station is not expected to launch until May 2026. It will have a total of 10 slots for scientific equipment and things needed for the crews that will be visiting it. In a similar way, everything is arranged like this on the ISS.

Vast had previously sold two lockers to equipment companies Redwire and Yuri. Most of the rest is reserved for the crew. Therefore, it remains to conclude 1-2 more agreements. According to the company representatives, all this is evidence of increased confidence in them.

On April 10, Vast announced an agreement with the Center for the Advancement of Science in Space (CASIS), which manages the ISS National Laboratory for NASA, to collaborate on research to be conducted by private missions. Now the company will be able to work on the ISS as well.
