The presented image was obtained on March 7, 2022 by astrophotographer Sebastian Voltmer. It demonstrates the International Space Station.
The image obtained by Voltmer is characterized by a high degree of detail (its resolution is 20 cm). In the image, you can see the structure of the orbital complex — solar panels and all the main modules. It also shows the Crew Dragon spacecraft docked to the ISS.
But the most interesting detail of the image is a small white dot outside the station. This is ESA astronaut Matthias Maurer. At the moment when the image was taken, he was performing a spacewalk. Interestingly, Sebastian Voltmer was shooting from the territory of the German city of Obertal, which is native to Maurer.
To get an image of the ISS, Voltmer used the Celestron C11 EdgeHD telescope and the ASI290MM camera. The station was photographed on the morning of March 7.
