Mickey 17
What is the film about?

Any new film by South Korean director Bong Joon-ho automatically becomes an event in the world of cinema. After all, he has directed such iconic films as Memories of Murder, Snowpiercer and, of course, Parasite, which won four Academy Awards, including Best Picture and Best Director.
Bong Joon-ho’s new film promises to give us a combination of the scale of a Hollywood blockbuster with his trademark social satire and black humor. Another big advantage of the film is the presence of Robert Pattinson in the title role. The last time the actor delighted his fans with his appearance on the big screen was almost three years ago. The premiere of Mickey 17 will take place on 7 March 2025.
Avatar: Fire and Ash

Why is it worth waiting for?
The title Avatar has long been a household name, so we hardly need to explain its presence on the list of the most anticipated films of the year. Yes, the previous films in the TV series were sometimes criticized for not having the most complex scripts. But there is no denying that at the same time, they provided viewers with a great spectacle and allowed them to be transported from the cinema to a distant and exotic Pandora for three hours.
The creators of the third part of Avatar have not yet disclosed any plot details. However, they promise to introduce new interesting characters, show the “bad” Navi for the first time, and unexpected plot twists. We will find out whether these expectations are met on 19 December 2025. But it’s already clear that, at least from a visual point of view, the third Avatar is likely to be one of the main film events of the year.
Predator: Badlands

In 2022, director Dan Trachtenberg injected fresh blood into the seemingly dead Predator franchise. His film Prey was well received by audiences and critics alike, so the studio offered him the chance to make another film about an alien hunter.
The plot of Predator: Badlands is currently being kept under wraps. However, it is known that this is not a sequel to Prey, but a standalone film that will take place in the future on another planet. Other mysterious details include the fact that Elle Fanning will play two different characters at once, and for the first time in the series’ history, the Predator will be a protagonist rather than a villain. Alien: Earth

Why is it worth waiting for?
It seems quite logical that in 2025 we will see the return not only of the Predator but also of its arch-enemy, the Alien. However, this time it will not be in the form of a film, but in the format of a TV series created by Noah Hawley, who previously gave us the cult films Fargo and Legion.
As in the case of Predator, the details of the TV series’ plot are kept secret. It is known that this is a prequel that will take place before the events of the first film in the franchise. According to Hawley himself, in terms of style and mythology, the TV series will also be more closely tied to the original Alien than to Prometheus and Alien: Covenant. Alien: Earth doesn’t have an exact release date yet. It will premiere in the summer of 2025 on the Hulu streaming service.
Superman

Superman is by far the most anticipated comic book adaptation of 2025. Its success or failure will determine not only the future of the relaunched DC cinematic universe but also the entire superhero genre, which has been stagnating in recent years.
This is, to put it mildly, a difficult task for James Gunn, the creator of the Guardians of the Galaxy trilogy, which is rightly considered by many fans to be one of the strongest elements of the Marvel Cinematic Universe. We will find out whether he will be able to create the impossible again and get rid of the heavy burden of the legacy of the previous, not the most successful, films about the Man of Steel on 11 July 2025.
