Released free trial version of Ukrainian dieselpunk about Galicians in space “Sand”

Steam Next Fest is an important event for Steam users and fans of indie games. At this time, developers start releasing trial versions of their games, so as many players as possible have the opportunity to familiarize themselves with future promising and long-awaited projects. Sometimes these releases happen even before the festival, which this year starts from October 14. For example, the multiplayer open-world dieselpunk game Sand from Lviv-based Hologryph Studios released an introductory Sand on October 11. The project can be briefly described as a game about “Galicians with shotguns on big robots in space”.

The action of the game Sand is set in an alternate world on the planet Sophie, where the Austro-Hungarian Empire became the leader of the space race, but due to an ecological disaster the local oceans have turned into deserts. Now treasure hunters travel the planet, searching for valuable remnants of civilization. They use huge walking robots (mechs), the Stompers, to overcome the harsh terrain and fight their opponents.

In the game, players can control Stompers: equip them, load their cannons, and get into battles with other hunters. You can attack enemies from a distance with sniper rifles or even attack their vehicles in pirate style. Sometimes you need to get out of your mech to explore abandoned towns or control radio towers. Enemies can be other hunters or lone bandits.

A demo of the PVP version of Sand has already become available on Steam. Given the interest in the game, it may attract a lot of players during Steam Next Fest. Although a full release date hasn’t been announced yet, further development of the game promises to be exciting.
